An amazing road trip leads you to Du Gia, this place seems quite new in the tourist map of Ha Giang, but for those who love traveling, especially adventure travelers, Du Gia is no longer a strange name.
Du Gia is famous for its peaceful villages and the beauty of magestic natural landscapes by moutains, streams and rivers. Also the passes are likely the first scene that travelers must admit. In addition, the local people here are friendly and extremely hospitable.
Where is Du Gia?
Du Gia is a commune in Yen Minh District, Ha Giang Province, Nothern Vietnam, where you will go through beautiful hills and slopes to the super nice and peaceful villages.
From Ha Giang, it takes 70km if you are going to National Road 34 then turn left to DT176, but most travelers follow the route Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh (DT181) - Dong Van - Lung Cu - Meo Vac - Du Gia (Yen Minh via DT176) - Ha Giang.
Explore Ha Giang through Dong Van Karst Plateau then drive 90km from Meo Vac to Du Gia. Going on DT127 then turn right into National Road 4C for 500m and turn left to DT182+DT176.
Bear in mind that some parts of the road are extremely bad as it's under construction.
What to do in Du Gia?
Visit the Tham Luong Waterfall in Du Gia
There is a small fall to swim, which is located 5km from town. The road is dirty but the scenery along the short walk to the pools in stunning. Not far from the fall, in the late afternoon, you will have chance to join with local childrens to play football and there are beautiful plateaus around the villages on the route to waterfalls.
Walk round the authentic villages
The villages in Du Gia are beautiful and peaceful, be sure to take a leisure walk around the villages for a rural experience and a touching moment when you meet the inhabitants in the villages.
Discover the local villages daily life on the way and interesting to see the animals like chickens, ducks and pigs are running around in the village's roads.
You will experience through traditional houses surrounded by rice fields and magnificent hills. Stay one night at a local homestay in Du Gia, try local foods and wake up early to explore the small roads after the sunrise, across villagers of all ages walking to the fields they work in.
Du Gia Love Market
People only know Khau Vai as the Love Market, but in Du Gia, there is also a Love Market that held once a year.
If you are not coming to Du Gia at the right time of the year for the Love Market, so the weekly market still takes place a rustic market and its traditional beauty.
Every Saturday morning, the Du Gia fair is busy as festival. The images of the Tay, H'Mong, Dao... are beautiful in their clothes and carry vegetables from the gardens; pigs, chickens and produce in the forest to the market.
