Full description

Tour Detail:

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang (L,D)

We will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi around 8am and start our journey northwards through the Red River Delta. We will stop for lunch in Tuyen Quang Town, famous for its verdant green tea plantations. Carrying on, we will go to visit Ha Thanh Village and waterfall in here. After that go to your homestay or hotel in Ha Giang for checking in, free time to relax, enjoy dinner and spend the night with a Thai family in their traditional home.

Day 2: Ha Giang – Dong Van (B,L,D)

After breakfast, as Ha Giang still requires a permit, your guide will assist you in purchasing one from the small office in the town. You will then take a succession of stunning passes, over the rolling mountains and valleys. You will stop for lunch in the small mountain town of Tam Son. After, you will travel through the imposing pine forest to visit a Hmong palace which once belonged to the powerful Vuong family. The palace is infamous for its use as a store for opium and weapons and offers a glimpse into the life of Hmong royalty in a different era. After independence, the palace was evacuated in 1950, and the descendants of this influential family now live in France and Canada. You will continue down the sweeping roads where many black H’mong villages hide behind the stone walls until you arrive in Dong Van at around 18:00. You will have dinner at local restaurant and spend the night in a hotel/ homestay.

Day 3: Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Ha Giang (B,L,D)

Today is Sunday. After breakfast, you can visit the weekly Dong Van Market to meet the local people and peruse the fascinating ion of handmade goods and speciality produce. You will then climb up above the town to Pu Lo, a French fortress built in 1890 and kept in great condition. After exploring the fortress and the incredible views it offers, you will hit the road to experience one of the most spectacular roads in the whole of Vietnam. At an elevation of 2000 meters, the Ma Pi Leng Pass clings to the side of the undulating mountains, giving unrivalled views of the valleys and terraced hemp fields, which decorate the mountainsides. You will zigzag down into Meo Vac Valley for lunch, before returning to Ha Giang where you will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 4: Ha Giang – Sapa (B, L, D)

 After having breakfast, check out your hotel/ homestay.

8:30 – 8:45 Get on the bus leave Ha Giang to Sapa. You will have a carry on lunch at the rest place.

You will arrive at Sapa around 15:30 – 16:00. Upon arrive. Check in the hotel. You will have leisure time. Dinner is service at the restaurant. Free time to explore Sapa town at night. You will spend the night in the Sapa Hotel.

Day 5: Sapa – Cat Cat Village (B, L, D)

After having breakfast, you will start the half-day walk to Cat Cat village occupied by the Black H’mong tribe. You will experience the tribal way of life while enjoying wonderful views of the terraced rice paddy fields and the waterfall in Cat Cat. After the walk, you will be back to the Sapa Hotel at around noon to check-in and be on time for lunch in the hotel restaurant. For the rest of the afternoon, you will be free to explore Sapa town, Sapa market, Sapa church on your own. Dinner will be in the hotel restaurant. You will spend the night in the Sapa Hotel.

Day 6: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van Village (B,L,D)

After having breakfast and a shower, you will check out of your room at the hotel and leave your luggage in the luggage storage room to prepare for your trek. You will only need to bring a change of clothing, trekking gear and toiletries for your stay at the village homestay. At around 9 AM you will begin your 12 km trek on small trails down the Muong Hoa Valley towards the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai. The Muong Hoa Valley contains some of the most beautiful views of rice paddy fields in Asia.  After having lunch along the Muong Hoa river in Lao Chai, you will continue along the bottom of the valley to get to the Dzay tribe village of Ta Van to experience their way of life while staying in a local family’s cottage. 

Day 7: Ta Van – Dzang Ta Chai – Sapa – Hanoi (B,L)

After having breakfast in the village homestay, you will begin your trek to Dzang Ta Chai of the Red Dzao tribe. You can experience the difference between the way of life of the different tribes people. You will have lunch in the village before you continue your trek through the amazing scenery and to the beautiful waterfall. After that, take the bus back to the hotel in Sapa for catching the bus leave Sapa back to Hanoi. You will have a short break on the half way about 20 – 30 minutes.

20:30: Drop you off at the hotel in Hanoi.
